Introducing….Shepherdess!
This is my Wisconsin Sheep and Wool exclusive colorway. It’s super special because it’s my first year vending but also for Lori Scharlau of Allen Creek Shetlands.
Lori, who quickly became my Shetland sheep mentor, died suddenly just a couple weeks ago.
Hearing of her death was actually quite a shock. We had gone to her farm last December to pick up our first 4 Shetland sheep. Lori was so fantastic and welcoming. I was very much looking forward to coming back this year to get some more sheep and spend some real time with her.
There is a Shetland Sheep show at this festival and I know her absence will be felt quite heavily. I am very sad to have spent only a short time with her, she definitely left an impact on me and I will do my best to raise the kind of sheep she would be proud of.
Also 15% of sales will be donated to MASS (Mid-American Shetland Sheep Show) to help bring judges from the UK to judge the show in Jefferson, along with prizes, etc.

75% superwash merino 25% nylon 438yds/100g fingering weight
100% superwash merino 246yds/100g, 3ply DK weight

**Hand dyed yarn can very from skein to skein. Colors are shown to the best of my ability. All computer screens show colors differently.
Care: I always recommend hand washing gently in cool/warm water and lay flat to dry, even superwash!
