In collaboration with This Bird Knits, Black Mountain Yarn Shop and Get Bentz Farm….we introduce the Carmela Jumper!
I will be dyeing these to order so you can choose any semisolid you see of mine on the website or the socials! Just add how many skeins you need to your cart and at checkout tell me what colorway you would like. There is a box that says “Order Notes”, type it in there. And then just give me a few days and your order will be out to you!
This is a very special millspun yarn, this local Minnesota farmer raises these sheep for meat and then considers this fleece “garbage”. When in actuality it make a glorious yarn. I am actually breeding this cross for the sole purpose of yarn. It’s soft and strong and warm!
Yarn Base: A 50/50 cross of Shetland and BFL (Blue Faced Leicester) 250yds per skein/130+g DK/worsted weight
This is a woolen spun yarn. Characteristics of this kind of spin is a thick/thin looking yarn and uses a longer staple length (length of locks from sheep), there is a lot of air in it which keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It’s a lot more similar to the kind of millspun yarn you would find in Europe. Overall it’s a less refined, but knits up into the best winter sweater! It is more rustic, but not super scratchy. See my photos for how it knits up!
Natural color is a warm cream.
